Most folks blow right past Venice on their way to the bigger Florida beaches up the coast. That’s fine by us. The sandbars here sit in waist-deep turquoise water, the bottlenose dolphins cruise past like they own the place, and the Gulf stays warm enough to swim nearly year-round. It’s a quiet island town, not a resort strip.

The best way to see Venice is from the water, and you’ve got options. Cruise the shoreline past Caspersen and Venice Beach, drop anchor at a shallow sandbar and wade out in chest-deep clear water, or ride up to Midnight Pass to look for shells and swim. The Intracoastal, the jetties, and the Gulf flats are all a few minutes from our dock at Fisherman’s Wharf Marina.

We’ve taken out families, couples, bachelorette parties, snowbirds, and the occasional solo traveler who just wanted a quiet afternoon on the Gulf. There’s no agenda once you’re on the boat — you tell the captain what kind of day you’re after, and we’ll make it happen. Bring your sunscreen, your cooler, and your people. The dolphins usually show up on their own.
